Volunteers









    

 


There are many ways a volunteer can assist an Adult Day Services Program.

Men, women and children (usually 14 or older) find that the time they share at an Adult Day Program is both worthwhile and rewarding. Volunteer needs at each center will vary.

General job description may include:

bulletAssisting with activities and crafts
bulletSharing special talents (i.e.: music, art, dance)
bulletSetting and clearing of tables for lunch and/or snack
bulletRiding on the bus as an assistant
bulletAccompanying group on a field trip
bulletPreparing daily snack
bulletWalking with participants
bulletOne on one activities with participants (i.e.: puzzles, cards, table games)
bulletAssisting with mailings or other clerical work

Training is provided so volunteers are familiar with the routine and know what is expected of them.

High school and college students often need service time as part of a class or training.
